Its really difficult to judge yourself whether the diamond you have is REAL.But there are few thing that can help you to judge its pureness.

1. In a small test uses a small light,if the light shine through the stone and you cannot see it on the other side, but only a bright halo around the rim, it is more likely to be a true diamond.

2.Breathe on the surface of the stone and check if it has fog on it.There should not be any moisture on a true diamond.

3.If the diamond is not mounted, turn it upside down and place it on a piece of newspaper. If you can read the print through the stone or even see distorted black smudges, then its not the true diamond.

4.If you see rainbow reflections in your diamond you are daeling with the fake one.

5.The facets (the cuts on top of the diamond) should be sharp.

6.A real diamond's reflections usually manifest in various shades of gray.
